Curvaceous quilting

JA11On Apr. 7, Ontario art quilter and teacher Elaine Quehl taught two half-day courses at Saint Mary’s University. In her Free-Form Curves workshop, Elaine showed Mariners how to cut curves free-hand and sew them together without “pinning” for truly original designs. In Elaine’s Flip and Sew Curves workshop, quilters learned about the “flip and sew” technique for creating curves based on a foundation of muslin. Elaine’s teaching style was easy and she was generous with her instructions and ideas. As you can see from the photos (courtesy Jacqueline A.), there was a lot of creativity flowing in the room:
