Congratulations to all the Mariners who participated in this year’s Meals on Wheels placemat program. For years now, the guild has been helping out Meals on Wheels by supplying placemats with a Christmas theme for their clients at Christmas time. And Meals on Wheels tells us the clients love them. This year, we outdid ourselves and made 133 placemats. Last Friday, Jackie and Rhonda delivered 75 placemats in Dartmouth and then went on to Halifax to deliver the remaining 58 to Continue reading

Pat proved a dab hand at quilter’s bingo

Thirty Mariners braved slippery, snowy roads to come together for our Christmas potluck on Dec 9. Jacqueline reminded us in her pre-dinner comments that we come together not only as quilters but as friends. So it was fitting to celebrate that friendship with food and laughter. We played bingo with fabric cards that were donated at the end of the evening to make charity quilts. We brought in the last of Christmas placemats for Meals on Wheels.
