Thirty Mariners braved slippery, snowy roads to come together for our Christmas potluck on Dec 9. Jacqueline reminded us in her pre-dinner comments that we come together not only as quilters but as friends. So it was fitting to celebrate that friendship with food and laughter. We played bingo with fabric cards that were donated at the end of the evening to make charity quilts. We brought in the last of Christmas placemats for Meals on Wheels. And, as always, we shared our finished works with each other. Some brought in their finished folded stars (from last meeting’s program). Margaret insisted that the completed quilt she brought in – started in 1996 – holds the guild record for the oldest UFO. And Phaedon displayed her spectacular screen that featured a Japanese motif of the four seasons.
