Friday, November 8, 2013 The Bride’s Quilt – Some experience
“My original design is sure to become a family heirloom. Let me show you the fastest and most accurate methods for making these blocks. There is a lot of sewing involved in this quilt but easy enough for quilters with some experience”

Saturday, November 9, 2013 Log Cabin Chevron Quilt – all skill levels
“The Log Cabin Chevron quilt made in this workshop is a replica of a quilt made in the late 1800’s. The original quilt was mad with silks but we will be using a variety of reproduction cotton fabrics to get a similar look. Colour theory for antique reproduction will also be taught. If you don’t like the antique palette, feel free to make a more modern version.”

Sunday, April 7, 2013
9.30 am to 4.30 pm
Location: Saint Mary’s University, Loyola Bldg, Room 173
Teacher: Elaine Quehl http://www.elainequehl.blogspot.
On January 26, Ken Grantham taught a class on his “Transformer Quilt“ – a pattern of his own design. A variety of pre-cut fabric kits were available although some participants cut their own fabrics. Participating Mariners spent the day quilting at the waterfront campus of NSCC in Dartmouth overlooking Halifax Harbour. The Transformer quilt is so named as the blocks can be transformed into many different patterns. All the participants enjoyed playing with the many design layouts.
